A drabble
‘A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author’s ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.’- https://en.m.wikipedia.org>wiki

Never Assume

Today was Todd Baker’s thirtieth bornday.
*********
It was twelve noon, and no one had called to wish him a happy bornday. But then his cell phone vibrated.
“Hey, Allen,” Todd said cheerfully.
“Hey, Todd,” Allen said somberly.
“Why do you sound so glum?”
“Work meeting tonight. Hey… come join me.”
Todd felt disappointed. “Alright.”
“Cool. Pick you up at eight.” Allen discontinued their call.
*********
It was eight o’clock and Todd still hadn’t heard from anyone. He assumed no one cared.
“Surprise!!!” One hundred people said in unison, and after he and Allen entered the conference room.
“Gotcha!” Allen said.
Most of what I once knew, I wasn't supposed to know. Now what I know will ensure I'll never see days like when I never really knew nothing at all.-Henery X
Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering.
Remember. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.
Breakdown of the photo: You can’t see what I see because what you see hides what I see. And I’m showing you exactly what I want you to see. This is how the powers that be operate daily. They show us what they want us to see and so many of us believe it because of popularity. Most things on the surface rarely reveal what’s real. Always look beyond the surface. Just my two cents on the literary dollar.
