A Journey Fueled By Selflessness

The Formula Facts

Imagine having so much content that you can create a greatest hits package for multiple categories. Well, this is the case where my creative writing journey is concerned. Such content results from my three E’s formula. Encouragement, Enlightenment, and Entertainment became my way of writing after discovering they were the principal ingredients that made up every blockbuster movie and bestselling book. At some point, each one of us will need to experience at least one of these three E’s daily. I know this to be true because I sought them out daily myself. I became obsessed with needing to know all anyone would share. When I doubted myself, the encouraging words of others helped to erase that doubt. And after a long day of dealing with the facts of life, I needed to be entertained by listening to music or watching an award-worthy movie or just vibing with family and friends.

Get And Give

I’ve been writing creatively every day for just over thirty years. Yes, you read that right. Every day for just over thirty years. An unwavering desire to help others fueled my drive. All of my content derives from firsthand experience, be it direct or indirect. The latter of the two refers to my presence in certain situations. So many people have shared things with me (verbally and visually) in days gone by that dictate my way of being till this day. Some of these things were seemingly less relevant to the givers, for they gave and kept it moving as if it was nothing significant. I’ve always seen things differently from the average person. For example. I see a person showing me what needs to be done instead of simply telling me as invaluable insight. Giving me a visual account of what’s expected of me will allow me the opportunity to do my best, as well as to get better. And this wisdom is something I can pass along to others. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Wise Ways

We show we are wise when what has helped us can help others as well. I share what I’ve written with the intent of it helping others. The goal is not to have people follow my lead, but to have them desire to take the lead in their own lives. To have them act on everything their hearts desire. By sharing what I’ve done, I pray people will realize they can do whatever they believe they can. We can doubt what people say, but it’s hard to doubt what they have done. Tangible proof gives credibility to our claims. If we say we can help people succeed because we have been successful, they will give us a chance to prove it.

The Purpose Of Wisdom

I share my wisdom mostly in short stories, articles, and poetry. Short stories are my bread and butter. So much information can be shared through a short story, because the characters alone are fiction. The situations are based on life events the average person can relate to. Who hasn’t experienced pain? What person doesn’t know what it feels like to want something so bad but, don’t know how to go about getting it? My short stories encourage, enlighten, and entertain. My characters are teachers and students. Students and teachers within the stories, and teachers for the readers of the stories. They help people to realize they’re not alone in whatever they’re going through. And more often than not, they offer reasonable solutions to problems. I want readers to step into, or out of, the shoes of my characters and see where it leads them in their lives. If something I’ve created and shared can help just one person recognize, embrace, and take full advantage of their greatness, then all I’ve done will have been worth it.

Writing Is A Lifestyle

This was really me getting what I felt outside of myself. Since I’ve lost my desire to write, writing like this for me has been a struggle. I used to could sit down and literally write all day. Now, days go by without me even thinking about writing anything. I once believed that I had written all I could write, but then I thought about what writing is truly all about. It’s about helping others. And we could never help others enough. Every second of the day we discover something new — that is, if our minds aren’t closed off to an enhanced way of thinking. And when we discover this enhanced way of thinking, it’s an opportunity to share it with others, who will share something new with us. The primary purpose of our being here is to help one another to be better. The presence of others has helped to make me a better person. I pray my presence in the lives of others has done likewise.

May we never lose our desire to outdo what we’ve already done. Make your last accomplishment motivation for your next endeavor.

Peace, Love, and the utmost Respect.

More often than not, we get what we’re willing to give and as long as there's no conditions.-Henery X
