This is my response to a prompt entitled, What If We Took One Day Away?

The second had arrived to introduce the minute where I would take center stage for an hour. And this day was the last one of the week. What a beautiful start of the first month of a brand new year.-Henery X

The Sun has just arrived to relieve the Moon of its duty on our side of the world. And on this day, we’re free to do as we please. All our responsibilities have been placed on hold for 23 hours and 56 minutes. So, the question is…. What would we do?

What If We Took One Day Away?

What if we took one day away?

Would it help us get our minds right?

Or would we remain the same?

Would we stand our ground and fight?

Or would we continue to live our life just to die in vain?

What if we took a day away?

Would we cultivate peace within?

Or would we allow hate to continue to have its way?

Would we realize no victory matters if it doesn’t ensure we all win?

Or would we continue to be selfish and to hell with what anyone has to say?

What if we took a day away?

Would we attempt to live at least one dream?

Or would we continue to rely on our 9 to 5 for security?

Would we stop acting as if there’s an “I” in team?

Or would we continue to make decisions minus mental maturity?

What if we took a day away?

Would we live and not just merely exist?

Or would we spend every second wasting precious time?

Would we make procrastination something we’d fight hard to resist?

Or would we allow doubtful thoughts to continue to dim our shine?

What if we took a day away?

Would we regard this as a blessing?

Or would we consider it a curse?

Would we take time to analyze our lessons?

Or would we continue to allow progress to die of hunger and thirst?

What if we took a day away?

Would we search to find those who really call the shots?

Or would we continue to accept being shot down?

Would we do something about being regarded as a have not?

Or would we continue to act as if we’re lost, with no right ever to be found?

What if we took a day away?

Would we make amends with family and friends?

Or would we continue to be stiffnecked and hard-hearted?

Would we show righteousness by owning up to our sins?

Or would we continue to ignore our shortcomings until we label everyone we love as dearly departed?

What if we took a day away?

What if indeed….

Time brings change. And there’s no better time to change than right now. At this very second. All we have to do is decide to do it and then do it.-Henery X
