Where Would We Be Without It?

The Fact Of The Matter
Writing is the greatest profession on the planet. Let me repeat that: writing is the greatest profession on the planet. How am I able to make such a bold claim? You may wonder. Well, let’s look at a few things writing handles. Writing ensures people in other professions are qualified, seeing they need to study books for the said qualification. Without writing, we’d be traveling around aimlessly, seeing the written word offers proper directions. The written word allows speakers of all kinds the ability to articulate a message without pondering about it. These are just a few examples of how, without the written word, living life would be a lot more complicated.
Influence From Beyond
It never ceases to amaze me how people we have never met influence us with words they have said, and that books are responsible for. I can’t tell you how many indirect mentors I have, thanks to the written word. It’s just too many to name. Though writing is my purpose, reading is my passion. It was due to me being an avid reader that I discovered writing is what I’m destined to do. Reading helps me to be a better writer. The perspectives of those who came before me allow me to make the best decisions. They offer me a means to achieve utter clarity. Therefore, I recommend every writer strives to add published author to their list of accomplishments because our words could help change someone’s life for the better. Books are my classrooms, and the authors are my well versed Deans.
What A Feeling
Many people have shared with me how something I’ve written has helped them in a major way. Though I don’t write for compliments when I receive them, I’m appreciative beyond words. To know your words inspired someone to do or not do something is an incredible feeling. It’s a feeling you need to experience firsthand to understand. It’s like touching something that once lived in your mind for the first time. Yeah, it’s like that.
The Reason Determines The Reward
I write to encourage, enlighten, and entertain. I believe the aforementioned three E’s make up the foundation all great literature sits atop. There is no spiritual being having a human experience who doesn’t need at least one of the said three E’s daily. When our words can consistently assist others to navigate through life better, they’ll show their appreciation by supporting all we do. It’s not just about what’s written, but why and how it’s written as well. If we’re looking to bring about a specific result, we need to choose our words, as well as place our words carefully. The power of words is powerful indeed. The inappropriate words at the right time could end up causing irreversible damage. So, let’s ensure our reason for writing will represent us well in our physical absence.
