Shortly after a loving husband’s beloved wife gave birth to their first child, she died. Understandably, he was devastated, but he also had a new responsibility he had to focus on as well. So, instead of sulking in his pain, he decided to use it to create a piece dedicated to his beloved, as well as something that would show their daughter how he truly felt about her mother. Below is the piece in question. I hope you enjoy it.

You were a star shining so bright, Therefore, I can still see you in the darkest of night, You stare down at me, as I look up at you, And we both understand our love is true, You may be physically gone, But you’ll forever live on, In my heart and mind, So, a loving thought of you will never be hard to find, If I never see you again, I pray you knew I regarded you as family, and not just my closest friend, And that my love for you, will never no an end, Our daughter will know of every move you made, To the point the thought of you will never fade, She’ll proudly mention your name, When asked who’s partially responsible for her claims to fame, Her mother’s daughter she will be indeed, A woman humble enough to follow, as well as wise enough to lead, All the Glory be to the Most High, How I wish that day you weren’t destined to die, But your sacrifice wasn’t in vain, Because now my greatest joy, was birth from my greatest pain

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering. Though this is a fictional story, the only thing not real is that it didn’t actually happen. But it’s a story we can all relate to, I have no doubt about this.

This piece was inspired by another piece I wrote in 1999 and that’s entitled, “What’s Love?” The aforementioned piece has been responsible for so many other pieces, especially ones involving sacrifice. True love is all about sacrifice, some hard choices will have to be made, choices, that will result in major changes.

May we never lose our desire to outdo what we already done.

Peace, Love, and the utmost Respect.
