Someone Will Always Be More Experienced

Some one once asked me why did I make life and living appear as if they’re not one in the same. This question derived from a short story I created and entitled, Checkmate https://medium.com/illumination-curated/checkmate-37c0c2ab7cb. In the story in question I personified the words life, living, time, and spirit. This was done to show my perspective on each one. Though they all have different duties, they’re at their best when they work as one. Like with all my short stories, this one was created to make the reader think.
I look at life as an opportunity to live. I look at living as an opportunity to create memorable moments with those we confess to love. What’s more important than creating memorable moments? Aren’t memories the only thing that will stay with us until we transition? People will come and go, but the impact they make in our lives will stay until we leave, thanks to memories.
People who have lived longer can help us move through our lives better, but only if we’re willing to be enlightened. Remember. We know a lot, but we don’t know enough, and no amount of time will ever allow us to know it all.
Where we are isn’t always where we’ve been. Where we are now was once just a dream. This is the case with everyone who lives, as well as who has lived. No successful person has ever started how they finished, not one. We get better by refusing to remain where we are. Where we want to be, people are already there or have just recently left. So, wouldn’t it be wise to listen to the experience they have to share? Sure, we could figure it out on our own, but look at all the time this will take. We could invest our time in speaking to experts about the information we need. There will always be someone more experienced, and this includes us.
With every forward step we make, others are doing likewise. Some are behind us, while others are before us. The ones behind us are looking to be enlightened, while the ones before us have what we need to be enlightened. It’s a cycle that never ends as long as we live. No one is better than anyone else. There are simply those who are more experienced than others. Experience doesn’t make us better, it makes us wiser. But if we’re not willing to use our wisdom to assist in the advancement of others, we’re not truly wise. Selfishness prevents us from receiving blessings. I digress.
Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering. May all you deserve and desire flow abundantly into your life, as a river does into a sea.
Remember. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.
Continue to be a lighthouse for all those who feel lost in the sea of life.
