Robert had just entered the office of his boss, Alex Good.
Alex was tall, dark, and handsome. And like Robert, he always dressed to impress. He sat behind his well-organized desk, reading over some paperwork.
“Hey, Alex. Got a second?”
“Robert. For you, I have as much time as you need. Besides, I’ve been expecting you. Sandy said you had something you wanted to discuss with me, and therefore she didn’t come back with your proposal.”
“I have the proposal right here.”
“Alrighty then. Take a seat.”
Robert did as he was asked. He handed Alex the file and then sat in one of the two chairs before his desk.
“So, what’s on your mind, Robert?”
“Well, I’d like to read the content of that file I gave you before the employees and staff.”
“Sounds simple enough. May I ask why you want to do this?”
“I’m thinking of becoming a motivational speaker.”
“Interesting. And you want this to be your practice run?”
“Something like that.”
“Well, I think it’s a great idea. In fact, I think it’s so great that I’m going to invite some of my business associates over to give a listen to what you have to say. If it’s as good as I believe it is, I’m going to convince them to allow you to speak it before their employees and staff.”
“Really, Alex?”
“Absolutely. I love people who take the initiative to improve their lives. Besides, I like you, Robert. And not only do I like you, but everyone here feels the same way. You always have a kind word, as well as some solid advice. It would be my honor to help you accomplish your goal.”
“I don’t know what to say, Alex.”
“Good. Save your words for tomorrow.”

Robert received a standing ovation for his shared proposal the next day. As Alex had promised, he invited several of his business associates to sit in and listen to his star Chief Human Resource Officer, and they were all impressed.
Robert would speak at several other businesses and this would lead him to meeting a woman that would change his life forever. The woman offered him the opportunity to travel the world with her and share his wisdom on company improvement with heads of major corporations. Of course, he jumped at the opportunity without giving it a second thought. He would make twice the money he made at his previous job, and would only work four hours a day, three days a week. And besides this, he was asked by the woman to create a manual for proper business etiquette.
Moral of the story: Don’t make what you love doing the last resort for possibly living the life of your dreams. Invest time, energy, and money into enhancing your skills and never doubt that your effort will soon afford you a hefty return.
Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering. May all you deserve and desire flow abundantly into your life, as a river does into a sea.
Remember. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.
Continue to be a lighthouse for all those who feel lost in the sea of life.
May we never lose our desire to outdo what we’ve already done.
Peace, Love, and the utmost Respect.
