It’s not our job to think for others

I thought I knew myself. Until I opened my closed mind. It was then I saw myself in a whole different light, a light much dimmer than the one before. It’s a real wake-up call going from thinking you knew it all, to realizing you knew nothing at all.-Henery X

So many of us hold ourselves back from moving forward because of what we think others will think. Not because of what people actually think, but because of what we think they’ll think. No one’s thoughts pertaining to us should ever have more power over our own.

The question I always ask myself pertaining to my offerings is this: “How do you feel about them?” After I have finished writing, I become a reader. I never intertwine the two. When I’m writing, I’m not concerned with how it’s being written. This is a job for when I’m reading. By keeping each part of the whole separate, I’m able to focus on achieving the desired result.

After I have finished writing, I read with honest eyes and an open mind. The deciding factor of rather I’m going to share or not is based on how the offering makes me feel. Reading my words is like reading the words of others. I look for in my offerings, what I look for in the offerings of others… utter clarity. If my intent isn’t clear to me, I feel it won’t be clear to anyone else as well. Though I write for others, I write for myself first. Making my thoughts visual helps me to think better, which helps me to make better choices and decisions.

Once I conclude an offering is ready, there’s no doubt in my decision. I’m confident it’ll do exactly what I created it to do. I know I won’t reach everyone, but my goal is to reach only one. Because I know one person has the power to motivate many, and the many can motivate many more.

Don’t doubt what you believe. If you love what you have done, allow love to ensure it’s shared with others. The only way we’ll know how people feel about what we have done, is by giving them the opportunity to feel it. But even if no one else loves your offering, you’ll always love it. Be proud of yourself for having the confidence and courage to get out of your way. Hey, who knows. Your bold move may motivate others. And in my eyes, that’s a victory I’ll gladly take any day.

As always. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.

For me, success is measured by how many lives we help change for the better.-Henery X
