Checkmate (2)

A poem

Checkmate

2023, Henery X ©

You’re dealing with a one of a kind, Diamond mind, And the jewels I find, Out shine, All others, So I advise you to step my brother, Because we ain’t blood, You wasn’t there when I had to get it up out the mud, You weren’t there when my housing was due to HUD, When I had one pair of pants and two shirts, When I was referred to as a worthless pile of dirt, But a garden grew from the concrete, Now all soil is regarded as sacred after I touch it with my two feet, Where finding money used to be a mystery, Now I make it appear like this world’s true history, See, people are eager to pay, To hear what you say, If you live each day, Helping them to keep poverty at bay, I’m big on giving back, This is why I possess plenty of what others lack, So go ahead and continue to spew your hate, It won’t change the fact that losing was destined to be your fate, Because every time after I make a move I scream checkmate.

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering. May all you deserve and desire flow abundantly into your life, as a river does into a sea.

Remember. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.

May we never lose our desire to outdo what we’ve already done.

Continue to be a lighthouse for all those who feel lost in the sea of life.

Peace, Love, and the utmost Respect.
