Ain't No Half Steppin'

A drabble

‘A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author’s ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.’- https://en.m.wikipedia.org>wiki

“Billy, what’s your secret for success?” Oscar Dean said.

He and Billy Seamore were sitting on a bench in the local park.

“It’s not a secret, Oscar,” Billy said.

“Really? So you wouldn’t mind sharing it with me?”

“Not at all. Are you ready?”

“Yes.”

“So, you’re going to memorize it?”

Oscar quickly pulled out his phone and hit the record button.

“See yourself with what you want clearly in your mind, and never doubt it. Create several plans, have an impeccable work ethic, have a great attitude, and be consistent. Oh, and ain’t no half steppin’, Oscar.”

“Got it!”

No matter how bad we may want it to, work will not do the work for us.-Henery X

A common theme I discovered while talking to people who fell short of living their dreams was they all lacked consistency. Despite their great plans, they lack the discipline to make them benefit them. They went hard in the beginning, started slacking off in the middle, and eventually gave up in the end. They set the bar higher than they were willing to jump, and their enthusiasm was gone with the wind. But with a few changes in their plans, they were back in the game and ready to give the performance of their life. They established doable expectations and remained consistent in ensuring they worked towards the goal daily. Soon, their mental visions became something tangible.

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my offering.

Remember. I’m not here to convince you to believe. I’m here to offer you something else to consider.
