Six Out Of Ten Ain’t Bad

In 2020, I told myself I was going to write ten books in ten years. At the time of me having made this bold statement, I had just recently self-published my third book. Only death will stop me from accomplishing my goal and even if I die, my current books will live on and continue my mission of helping others to help themselves.
I began the journey of completing my sixth book on June 23, 2022. And on January 24, 2023, which was my bornday, the goal was accomplished. The idea for the book in question was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my many literary comrades. The gifted young woman suggested that I create a curriculum designed to encourage the youth to always be their best. As she was offering more verbal motivation, I saw what I was going to do unfolding in my mind. Right after we parted ways, I created the first of the ten stories that make up the book. Later that evening, I shared the story with my beloved friend, who couldn’t believe I had acted so quickly.
Every day after I completed the first story, another followed without failure. With each completed story, I felt a sense of utter joy. There’s nothing like setting out to do something and it gets done. Well, this is how it is for me. In ten days, I had the content that makes up the bulk of the book in question. But though the manuscript was complete, the journey was still in progress. There was editing, formatting, and the all important book cover that needed to be completed. I took care of the editing, my lady handled the formatting, and I sent my book cover concept to my favorite graphic designer. After I was satisfied with everything that needed to be done, the manuscript, book cover, and ISBN were submitted to Kindle Direct. Two days later, the completed book was available for purchase. And of course, I was the first person to buy my latest offering.
We all have the power to do whatever it is we want to do. It all begins with belief. If we don’t believe we can accomplish our goals, no amount of desire will make them tangible. Once we believe without a shadow of doubt, no force will deter us, including frustration. Frustration is the telltale sign that our belief and desire are being tested, as well as that we’re close to accomplishing our goal. So, when frustration comes knocking, and trust me, he will, just open the door, smile, and walk right past him and off to live your dreams. Knowing is half the battle won.
