A poem

Bad Timing
2020, Henery X
She walked in
With confidence as her best friend
Her smile illuminated the darkened room
And there was no doubt in my mind that she would be mine soon
I kept my cool, for she was hot as hell
Her body was draped in some top designer, and she wore it well
As she approached, I acted as if she didn’t matter
Like she acted as if she didn’t hear all the chatter
That would flatter most
But she was far from most
The type that didn’t need to brag or boast
Once she got close enough she stopped and struck a pose
And I suppose
I was supposed to rise, but I never rose
So, she took the initiative and pulled up a chair
I gave her a glance, far from a stare
But what I saw, oh my God!
A goddess in human form
And when she spoke, it was like the calm after the storm
And when I finally looked into her eyes, I was lost, never to be found again
Then my alarm clock went off, and I said damn! Why did my dream have to come to an end?
